Vietnam

"l've just returned from travelling through Vietnam with our partners at Wide Eyed Tours, and it was a great reminder of why I still love getting on the ground and experiencing destinations firsthand.
There were plenty of highlights along the way - cruising through the stunning scenery of Lan Ha Bay, wandering the lantern lit streets of Hoi An, and discovering some fantastic hotels that I'll confidently recommend to clients.
But the experience that surprised me most was a scooter ride through the countryside of Hue.
What I expected to be a simple sightseeing tour quickly turned into one of the standout moments of the trip. Within minutes we'd left the main roads behind and were winding our way through villages, local markets and quiet backstreets.
Children waved as we passed, locals gathered over coffee on street corners, and everyday life unfolded around us.
The further we travelled the more I realised we weren't just ticking off sights, we were getting a glimpse into daily life and seeing a side of Vietnam that many visitors would otherwise miss.
What struck me most about Vietnam was the energy. The organised chaos of the cities, the endless stream of scooters, the vibrant markets and the constant movement all create an atmosphere that's hard not to get caught up in.
Vietnam delivers the iconic sights, but for me it was the local experiences like this that left the biggest impression.
That's what I think Wide Eyed Tours does so well. Their trips go beyond the obvious attractions and create opportunities to connect with a destination on a deeper level."
